First cut feedback

• Use of static at the start is a creative solution to your tape problem
• Love the whip pan – technique works well here – still don’t like Amy’s knee in shot
• Band location and lighting is effective
• Burning the photo sequence doesn’t work well – no drama. Consider a burning of effects on an outdoor barbecue
• The shot of the 2 girl singers in the garage goes on too long
• Lovely reaction shot from Becci when she drops the sim card
• Revenge would seem stronger if the sim card flushed down toilet!

Week events- 9th October

The filming for the 9th october was successful we managed to film all of the shots that we had planned.
When we started to edit we had relaised that we needed to get a shot of evidence that the room which we were trashing was a boy's room who they were getting their revenge on.
We will be doing it at a later date, along with other film which needs to be filmed again.
Which is the bed shot which was a master shot, we have planned to film it at a later date outside on Amy's stairs in her garden due to our teacher not particularly liking the lighting and movement which is in the shot.
We are confident that we will have all of our editing done for our due date.

Week events- 4th october 2010

On the week of the 27th september we started editing our material and put it with the music.
In the week to come we are going to film more.
Were going to include our friend Alanna Petty who will be part of our band performance, she will also be part of our filming because Perry Allen and myself will not be available to help film in this session.
When we have got the material from the filming session we can start editing even more into our music video.

Week events- Shooting of music video 27th September 2010

For our first shooting we started between 3 till 6pm, we first did a master shot which ran through the whole music video. After we did this shot we weren’t happy with the way that the shot looked this is because there were lines going through the picture which meant re-shooting that whole shot was necessary.

After re-shooting we moved on to do shots which are going to be in the video to fill up bits which need to have imagery to them so that we don’t have the same shots we did one of Amy and Becci the two girls in the video if need to we then did the shots of Perry (running down the stairs and into the toilet which took us a few shots to perfect) one of them was of him having a cup of tea showing him drinking not knowing he took the laxatives.

We also did a shot of Amy and Becci on the sofa holding the box of laxatives implying they had put them in his drink.

Feedback for Animatic

The first shot that we had ideas of needs to be changed it isn't an interesting enough shot, it was going to be of Amy and Becci as a head shot of them up against the red wall. Instead of using our first idea for the first shot were going to use a shot of an escalator or lift with the guy and one of the girls, then one of the girls getting off the escalator/Lift and one of them getting on after the other has gone, this shows us first off that the guy is cheating on them both, which opens the music video well.
The Laxitive shot which has been included needs to be more distinctive and memorable.

Our teacher thought that the majority of shots we had planned to include in our music video were interesting and demonstrated our camera skills and editing skills well. Along with a good structured video.

Becci Taylors is the ex girlfriend and lead singer in this video, she gets her own back on her ex-boyfriend after finding out he had cheated on her.

Amy and Perry above they both play a part in the music video.

Amy is the other main female singer and perry is the boy who the two girls get their back on.

Above is myself who will be Filming the video and will also be appearing in the video as the new girlfriend.

Preparation for A2 production: analysing a music video “Taylor Swift- Love story”

The performers-School girl and school boy both wearing casual clothing, girls make up is natural but you can see that she has made an effort, both have well groomed hair, in the video it shows clearer that they are students because the boy is sitting down with a book in his lap and the girl is walking and holding a book, they then make eye contact showing that they like each other, when this is shown it cuts to the same characters in Elizabethan costumes the girl is wearing a long cream high class looking dress and the boy is wearing a high class suit, he is well shaven and his hair is done well, her hair is up which shows efforts been put into her and make up is quite heavy, these costumes are used because they relate to Romeo and Juliet which is what the music video from what we can see is based around.

The costumes vary to the kind of clothes that we wear now but in the beginning of the cong the same kind of style is used to what we wear now.

Natural lighting in the day light when outside of school, when they are at the castle outside it is a bright light. When she is on her own she is in front of the bright sun this could show she is quite innocent and angel lie, in the evening when they are hiding out it is dark with a dime lamp this may show us that at night she is hiding something that may soon be known, we know that she is hiding something because she is with a boy that she isn’t supposed to be with the lyrics state this clearly, she uses a fan in front of her face this may show also that she is hiding something.

What music genre does the song belong to?-The style of the video does fit in because the genre of this song is country pop and the video is set in a castle in the countryside.

It is a realistic video but because it is based around the film Romeo and Juliet it also has the aspect of it being a fairytale but because it starts with them as students it almost makes it as though it’s a dream.



Taylor Swift with her fans, these are the type of people who listen to her music as you can see most of the people are teenagers.

Camera and editing-The end shot is particularly interesting because they are staring at each other, which captures the love between them, also I like that they have shown them at the beginning as quick shots as students at school, and then as if it was a dreamy fairy tale love story, their lives changed and they were in a fairy tale similar to Romeo and Juliet, which in the songs video and lyrics have referred to as the tale of Romeo and Juliet. They create this atmosphere by using candles and keeping them close together throughout most of the music video.

These are two shots that are interesting and show the relationship between the couple.

Mise en scene-Camera work- first shot sets the scene, many cuts and mixes are used often to show

the transactions, a lot of close up shots that showed they were looking at each other, almost like it was there point of view shot, and reverse shots were used often to show the love between them.

Reaction shots are used often to show that from what they have seen a reaction has been made, two shots to show they are close together and also a bird’s eye view is used showing not only them but a glance of people around them, this could tell us there in there won world which suggests the Romeo and Juliet love story. The intertexuality in this music video is that is refers to Romeo and Juliet(Baz Luhrmann version) this is mainly shown from what she is singing and the costumes they are wearing, Romeo and Juliet was based in Elizabethan times so what they are wearing in the video is the same era.
The lyrics and the video both complement each other because the lyrics go well with what is shown in the video.
In the modern sequences in the video can be referred to films such as mean girls, 10 things I hate about you and other films which are set in schools.

This is a photo of my groups production schedule as you can see we have ammended the prouduction schedule allready, and as we go along we will most likely find things that will need to be re-filmed.

Feedback for "The pitch"

When we showed the class "The pitch" we got feedback which showed us that we had to:
Show how we are going to utterly humilate the boyfriend in the music video.
We also needed to put pictures of stylistic influences and pictures of intended audience, after getting this feedback we added these photos to our powerpoint to improve it.

We also need to add photos of the location we are using for filming to the powerpoint which will be added onto the blog as soon as possible.

We also need stills for films or other music videos to show what editing techniques we will be using for our music video, this will also be added to the blog when i have found the editing techniques needed.
